FAQ | That Farming Physio

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers — no fluff, just how we do things around here.

How does online physiotherapy work?

You’ll meet with me via secure video — no special software needed. All you need is a phone, tablet, or laptop with a camera and enough space to move a little. Your first session runs for around 60 minutes and includes a full chat about your history, current problem, and goals. We’ll go through movement and strength testing together, then create a clear plan you can start straight away.

You’ll get a written summary and exercises afterwards, and if the internet drops out (rural life — I get it), we simply switch to phone or reschedule. Follow-ups are 30 minutes and focus on progress, troubleshooting, and updating your plan.

Can online physio really help?

Yes. Research shows online physiotherapy is just as effective as in-person for most injuries and pain conditions. The key is good assessment, clear guidance, and a plan tailored to you. Because I work with rural clients every day, everything I teach is practical, home-based, and fits the gear and space you actually have.

What do I need for an online session?

A stable internet connection (or as stable as rural NZ allows 😉), a camera, and a private space where you can move freely. Wear comfy clothes, and set your camera so I can see your whole body when you move.

What do I need to do beforehand?

Before your first appointment, please fill out the short intake form here:
👉 Complete your intake form

Once that’s done, make sure you’ve booked your appointment — this confirms your spot and gets your details into my system so everything runs smoothly.

You’ll receive your link, reminders, and any follow-up info once your booking is confirmed.

How long are appointments?

Initial sessions: around 60 minutes — a thorough look at what’s going on.
Follow-ups: around 30 minutes — to review, progress, and refine your plan.

How do payments and forms work?

You’ll receive your invoice after each appointment and can pay securely online. Intake forms are completed once before your first session — that link’s above if you need it again.

What if my internet drops out mid-session?

No stress — if we lose connection, I’ll call you. We can switch to phone or reschedule. Rural connections are part of life; I plan around them.

Can I still see you in person?

Yes — if you’re near Gisborne, book an in-person session at 36 Ormond Road. Otherwise, online works beautifully for most people.

What if I just have a quick question?
