A mobility and isometric strength based programme designed to improve shoulder symptoms between injury and being able to get an appointment with a physiotherapist. This programme should help symptoms.
If it does not help, please seek medical attention.
Make sure you follow the loading guidelines of pain less than 2/10 in your shoulder or 0/10 within 72 hours of injury.
This is not physiotherapy, rehabilitation or diagnostic, merely a way to begin strength work before getting an appointment where there is a delay in being able to be seen.
Shoulder Injury First Aid
I’m sorry to hear you have hurt your shoulder. I also know it takes time to get in and see someone. Please make sure that if you think it may be broken, if it’s clicking or locking or you have lack of sensation, pins and needles and a significant loss of strength or you have other concerns, that you go to A&E, or A&M as soon as possible. If your pain is intolerable, if you are unable to rest or sleep please get medical attention as soon as possible.
I’ve created this programme for you to do daily as a stopgap between this injury, and seeing your physiotherapist. This is not physiotherapy treatment. Please ensure you have a physiotherapy appointment with your preferrred provider as soon as possible. This is not individualised treatment and is not diagnostic.
Key Points:
- This is not a substitute for physiotherapy or individualized assessment and treatment. It is designed only for the gap between injuring yourself and getting in to you preferred provider.
