But – Can You Help Me?

But – Can You Help Me?

Physiotherapy with me is for everyone. While much of my work is with rural people, the care I provide is not limited to any one group or lifestyle. If you have pain, an injury, or movement problems that are affecting your day‑to‑day life, physiotherapy may be able to help. If I can’t help, I will make sure we find someone who can get you answers.

This guy also competed at a shearing show a year later with no pain - he had three appointments, over three months.

When can I see you?

I treat new and acute injuries involving muscles, ligaments, and joints, as well as pain that has developed gradually over time. This includes injuries from work, sport, accidents, or everyday activities.

Physiotherapy is also helpful if you’re preparing for surgery and want your body in the best possible condition beforehand, or if you’re recovering after surgery and need structured rehabilitation to regain strength, movement, and confidence. Your surgeon may say you don’t need rehab.  I will disagree with them. Your strength will only increase to the intensity you work to regularly, and regular life may make you fit, but doesn’t work on your fitness.

What parts of the body do you treat?

I assess and treat issues affecting the neck, back, shoulders, hips, knees, ankles, and feet, as well as related muscle (thigh, calf, achilles, forearm, arm, glute etc) and joint pain (all joints) throughout the body. If something hurts, feels stiff, weak, or isn’t moving as it should, it’s appropriate to be assessed.

How It Works

My approach is focused on understanding what’s driving your symptoms and what can realistically be improved. From your first session, you’ll know what we’re working on, what physiotherapy can help with, and whether it’s the right option for you. This is the same online and in person.

But - Does Online Physiotherapy Work? And How?

While it's lovely to do hands on therapy, the body is the smartest thing in the room. When I teach you how to listen to your body, and when you do the movements that make your body feel safe and that increase it's coordination and function, all sorts of magic happens.

In person is still an excellent option, and a hybrid model works for those relatively local. It makes the assessment easier and I can feel what's going on, but since I've been a physio since 2002, my eye is pretty good for the things I need to see.

Let's Be Clear

Physiotherapy isn’t just for athletes or people with major injuries. It’s for anyone who wants clear answers, practical help, and a plan to move and feel better. Sometimes a tiny niggle can turn into a bigger problem over time, and catching it early can be a way to make life better.  That doesn’t mean a long term injury can’t be treated, but it may take longer to unravel.
